2015 Manistee Rug School Fish Swap

Join us in Manistee Rug Camp's FISH SWAP. Create a fish, any size, any artistic medium, wrap it up and bring it to camp in June. You can hook it, felt it, sculpt it, paint it, bead it, quilt it or whatever strikes your fancy. When you wrap it up, put your name and a short description of how your fish was made inside the package. When you arrive at camp, all the "fishy" packages will be put into the pool. Later in the week, all who brought a package will pick one from the pool. This is an optional activity, but should be lots of fun. With the abundant creativity at our camp, there should be some fabulous "fishy" creations. Hope you will choose to participate in our Fish Swap. There were some very creative swaps last year!

2015 Manistee Rug School Mystery Challenge

Welcome to those of you who are new to our camp and special welcome to those of you who are returning. We are continuing the MYSTERY CHALLENGE original pattern from Green Dragonfly Studio / Christine D. Hornby , one of our teachers again this year.
She has designed an original MYSTERY pattern specifically for our camp. It is a 14 inch round pattern. That is all I can say. It will be a great beginner pattern, but will also be challenging enough for those who have been hooking for a long time. This is our MYSTERY CHALLENGE. The basic design is there, and you just have to color plan and hook. We will have a special area set up at the rug display during the week to show off everyone's individual interpretation of the MYSTERY CHALLENGE. We want to see them all, completed and in progress. To order the pattern ahead of time, contact Christine at The pattern is specially priced at $35 to students registered this year. She is printing and selling the pattern and will send it directly to you.
There are still a few spots open, so if you are thinking about coming, contact Karen Rorick at

Below are examples of last year's MYSTERY CHALLENGE.   Come join the fun!
