Manistee is located on Lake Michigan, on the Manistee River. Named The Victorian Port City, the restored downtown reflects the town’s colorful history. The Victorian mansions of the lumber barons, antique stores, newly restored Ramsdell Theatre and the Manistee County Historical Museum celebrate the past while the new River Walk and the shops on River Street give Manistee unique interest and charm.

Camping is a family pleasure at the Orchard Beach State Park, and Lake Michigan beaches stretch north and south.

There are Bed and Breakfast accommodations in historic houses in Manistee and the surrounding area.

Popular golf courses are nearby, and fishing is available by charter or on private boats which can be launched at many sites
